In July, 2019 the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Nigeria in partnership with Youthhub Africa and Education as a Vaccine (EVA) trained 40 young Nigerians to increase awareness, support in disseminating information on services and commodities of Sexual and Reproduction Health and Family Planning using Social Media.

The young people used their Social Media platforms to call Ekiti State Government to make Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Bill a priority which led to the signing of Ekiti State Gender Based Violence (GBV) Prohibition Law on the 16th of October 2019. The Youth Social Media Advocate used their Social Media to engage the Government and Civil Society Organization why implementation of the new Law is important through discussion and dialogue on the topic “Role of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the Implementation of Ekiti State Gender Based Violence (GBV) Prohibition Law, 2019” on Twitter.
